Angelina Nararayan
Quote from Angelina Narayan on May 28, 2026, 8:43 pmMy name is Angelina,
I follow Sri Narayana Guru’s vision of humanity based on kindness and compassion. His teachings helped me realise that real wisdom doesn’t come from wealth, caste, status, or education, but from being sincere, humble, and understanding yourself.
Even though I was born in India, I’ve lived in the United Kingdom for more than fifty years. When I was young, I mainly saw Sri Narayana Guru as a spiritual figure and social reformer, but as the years passed, I slowly lost touch with my spiritual and cultural roots.
Around the age of fifty, I went through a period of deep inner emptiness. About twelve years ago, I had the opportunity to study Vedanta with the Gurukula Swamis, first with Swami Tanmaya and later with Swami Thyageeswaran. Their guidance completely changed the way I see myself and the world around me.
Reading Nataraja Guru’s Autobiography of an Absolutist with Swami Tanmaya was a major turning point in my life. It helped me let go of feelings of inferiority and see beyond caste, status, and social labels, and instead recognise the dignity in every person.
The teachings of Nataraja Guru, Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati’s Love and Blessings, and the Gurukulam inspired me deeply. They also showed me how important it is to support spiritual seekers who dedicate their lives to preserving wisdom for humanity.
Although I haven’t yet read Guru Muni Narayana Prasad’s autobiography, hearing about his life through Guru Nitya’s reflections and watching the documentary film about him showed me his dedication, simplicity, and lifelong service in carrying forward the Gurukulam tradition. We are all going to miss this valuable Guru — his strength, honesty, love for the Gurukula, and care for the community.
